Alturas Energy was incorporated in the spring of 2009. Formerly known as Serra Energy, the name change to Alturas was the result of a desire on the part of the company owners to shift focus from asset accumulation to cash flow generation. As such, the Alturas management team is committed to building an environmentally responsible, cash flow producing energy company.
Alturas currently owns primarily natural gas interests in the following locations:
Northern Indiana - 127,000 leased acres in the Antrim Shale
Southern Indiana - 37,000 leased acres in the New Albany Shale
Kansas - 1450 producing acres in the Forest City Basin
Texas - mostly oil interests in South Texas
Oklahoma - oil and gas interests spread throughout the state, including Woodford shale
Montana - royalty interests
We are currently re-positioning our portfolio with a greater focus on cash flow assets, and less focus on land assets. Additionally, we are investigating a variety of energy investment opportunities, including natural gas plays, wind energy projects, and other clean energy, cash flow producing investments.
